Hello, everybody, Wolfgangster here, talking about a rivalry that has lasted through the 90's that was so infamous that we're still talking about it to this day! It is......... Sega vs Nintendo!
Now, this isn't just a normal "company versus company" situation, this is a duel to the death fight betwixt (that's an old way of saying "between", just in case you don't know) the two company's mascots. Their names are: Sonic the hedgehog: a speedy, blue, anthropomorphic, hedgehog who wears red sneakers, and saves the land from the evil Dr. Egg Man, and a plumber, Mario, with a jumping power, who saves the Mushroom Kingdom from King Koopa. Now, both clash to end the war! So let's dive in!
Sonic: advantages over Mario -
1. out speeds Mario by a landslide.
2. homing attack, talk about overpowered!
3. better acrobat than Mario.
4. super sonic! doubles normal strength and speed and ices it with a flying ability! while Mario has nothing of the kind.
Mario: advantages over Sonic, -
1. bigger power-up arsenal.
2. can swim, while sonic sinks like a rock.
Whew, done with that, now, for my thoughts of who would win an a battle? Me, personally? I think Sonic would win, because he has more advantages over Mario.

As for who would win...hard to say. If it was an aquatic fight, I think Mario would own. But on land...Sonic would most likely destroy him. Sonic is just too fast and can jump just as high. If Mario had the right power-ups and a really solid battle plan...he'd have a chance. Especially if he lured Sonic into some close quarters where his speed wouldn't be as useful and Mario's firepower could pin him down. Both hero's have faced enemy's that are more powerful then they are and prevailed. I think that the winner would be, just like in life, the one who studied the most. By knowing the opponents weakness, it's habits, and setting a trap, BOOM they'd win.
In the end I think Sonic would win but I am voting for Mario because I like cheering for the underdog.
